A quick Google of "Cambridge spotting" reveals :

Cambridge is quite open and viewable from three sides but the problem is parking.
I tend to park near a crash gate off airport way - you can park on some grass without blocking the gates.
Look at Google maps - from the A14 turn south down the A1303, after a couple of miles turn left at the roundabout down airport road - the airport and runway are on your right - you can't miss it. The crash gate is a few hundred yards up airport road. From there you can see most of the aerodrome.
From the above you can follow your nose to get round to the other side closer to the hangars - continue down airport road and turn right so you go under the runway - keep turning right and turn right again at a Mercedes dealership.
