Get to know one of the contractors working on the base such as Carillion Amey or WT Parker, and they can get you on....

I couldn't go on base if I wanted as I have been banned by the CO because of some home truths I told them regards their treatment of spotters . Biggest load of clowns ever in charge at the moment, shockingly bad and with rubbish helicopters.

Like dubamaster - I too am currently banned from the unit!dubmasteruk wrote: ↑Tue Sep 25, 2018 3:00 pmI couldn't go on base if I wanted as I have been banned by the CO because of some home truths I told them regards their treatment of spotters . According to the information released (by way of a Freedom of Information Request) - they didn't like the fact that the pair of us pointing out the fact that the Station Flight Safety Officer had actually 'ordered' MoD employees to park in front of the Crash Gates to obscure the views of spotters!
My complaint has now gone much higher - I am awaiting a response as to why they need to trawl through teenage girls Facebook Accounts in order to obtain a photograph of their father to append to the 'Banning Order' - this despite the fact that they have my photograph on the Passes & Permits computer in the Main Guard Room.
I am still awaiting confirmation of:
The Security Classification of their 'Banning Order'
The retention policy applied to it.
How long such a 'Banning Order' applies for
Whether I am banned from any other unit.
Whether my youngest daughter is banned (as her photo also appears on it)
And finally - I've also requested the number of hours spent by MoD personnel each tear 'trawling through teenage girls facebook accounts'!
The Chief of the Air Staff is also now fully aware of the clowns that run Shawbury!!!
I lodged formal complaints of 'Bullying, Intimidation, Breach of Human Rights, Breach of Data Protection Act and Breach of Computer Misuse Act (apparently the RAF Police 'did not think it applied to them' ) with both West Mercia Police (who did cock-all) and the RAF Police - whom I've not heard a single thing since reporting it on Cosford Show Weekend.
I'm thinking that my next line of 'letter-writing' - will be directed to the Police & Crime Commissioner, and the Secretary of State for Defence!
I'll keep you all informed of the results as and when they are known!

Oh dear that went well
Nothing like building good relationships with your local base!
Of course you have the right to stand on the public side and look in but they have the right to parks cars or a herd of elephants in the way - it's a game of cat and mouse , being rude or complaining to your MP won't help.

Oh a smart comment from someone who doesnt know anything what so ever regarding the matter. The ironic thing is Arthur Tee used to work on base and was instrumental in raising considerable monies for station charities for running spotter trips and other events.

You are posting on a public forum - you should have said it was read only and you don't want any other opinions.
I fully sympathize with Shawbury if that's your attitude - you are right and any every other person is wrong.

So it's ok for them to effectively block a Crash Gate whilst a Typhoon carries out a series of high energy manoeuvres - which could quite easily lead to it's loss and damage to property and persons in the village - BUT then on a Cosford Show day - send the RAF Police out to ensure that Crash Gates are not blocked.
Can you explain how that makes sense??

It's standard practice - as you know - they want you to pay and go inside.

Either way the crash gate should not be blocked by spotters or anyone elseArthur Tee wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 2:24 pmYou clearly cannot understand the 'double-standards'.slogen51 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 1:10 pmOh dear that went well

And that is entirely my point - how dare they put property and lives at potential risk - and then not have the bollocks to stand-up to their reckless actions?slogen51 wrote:

Re: RAF SHAWBURY OPEN DAYS/AIR SHOWS
Wrong, you cannot go inside and pay at Shawbury which shows you are not very clued up on this base.
I agree with Arthur Tee on this and the base management in using the CRO are corrupt and useless!
They cannot stop you from taking pictures when standing on public land!

Most service men and women have a lot of bollocks
I realize that sound bite doesn't quite work for the ladies!
