Cosford Air Show 2018 - Shawbury visitors
Ok here I hope is a heads up for aircraft visitors into Shawbury ready for the Cosford air show on 10th June. Information is from the base but not 100% confirmed as yet as subject to change. The following aircraft I'm told are booked in AT Shawbury from 6th June:
Red Arrows
Jet Provost
Hawk T2
Typhoon poss (3 in)
Tornado GR4 (pair)
Dassault Rafale
F16 Falcon
MiG 29 Fulcrum
Shawbury may try and and confuse us with yes or no's on the above but the above is pretty accurate.
The Reds as of the 3rd June are booked in to arrive AM on the 10th June, usually this is around 1030 hours.
Anyone else with further info please comment and let everyone know.

I understand that the Police will be ininating certain road closures in the Shawbury area. When I lived in Shropshire many
moons ago I use to go to Grinshill Hill this commanded a superb view of RAF Shawbury which as the crow flies is about 5n miles

I was told the same but it won't stop people walking the back lane, they have to keep it open as a right of way. However I am aware that the landowner is installing new fences this week in the field onto the bottom of the runway. That's new this year as he is quite unhappy with people just walking across his land without permission.

Looks like the Polish are in PM on the 6th June followed by the Belgium F16 on the 7th. The support are usually in C130 for the Belgium air force but cannot see them landing AT Shawbury personally. Although they may as they've had them on the ground before.

Re: Cosford Air Show 2018 - Shawbury visitors
Any news yet on which day all the International aircraft will validate? It's been on the Friday afternoon in the past.
Re: Cosford Air Show 2018 - Shawbury visitors
Can i say 50% of the movements listed are wrong
Re: Cosford Air Show 2018 - Shawbury visitors
The good news, however, is this means that 50% of movements are correct . . . !
Anyway, hope everyone enjoys the event, whether at Shawbury or Cosford or both.

So how come MT and the MoD fireman have different news/info to ATC?
Same happens every year as Shawbury will say one thing then another, and in the end jets do drop in when unexpected.
Whatever happens there are fast jets in at Shawbury from Thursday, that we do know :-)

Rafale display team have tweeted 'See you on the 9th and 10th' which would suggest they are validating sometime on Saturday.

I've just been at Shawbury this morning working and lots of people saying Rafale jets will be in from Saturday. They are apparently doing a practice run ON Saturday afternoon.

Good spot on the info thanks!
This is one that Shawbury tried to tell us on the base yesterday that wasn't coming in. I don't know why they just cannot be honest these days it's very frustrating.
