1:72 Fujimi Phantom and Tamiya Tornado F3

Post by jonf45 » Tue Mar 07, 2017 6:33 pm

From the sublime to the ridiculous!!
The Fujimi Phantom is a dream to build, the Tamiya Tonka is a bit of a nightmare!!!
Both hand painted, and pretty much OOB.
First up then is the 111 Squadron FG1, finished as XT865/U, RAF Leuchars circa 1986:

And then the F3, finished as 5 Squadron's ZE292/AK, RAF Coningsby, 1990. Used some xtradecal and Airfix decals because the Tamiya ones are awful in general and dont contain the Tail flash or certain others needed!! It may have just been a bad one, as most bits went together quite well, but there was a 1mm overhang on either side of the top half of the fuselage compared to the bottom half, thus needing a hell of a lot of filler/sanding!!!
Anyway, here she is:

Thanks for looking
