Have you got a water separator between your compressor and your airbrush?

Hello Matt,as well as a water trap being fitted to the compressor, before I start using the airbrush I disconnect it from the pipe, hold my thumb over the pipe end , turn on the compressor and allow the pressure to build up then release my thumb. You will probably see a fair amount of water expelled from the end of the pipe that may have collected after the last time it was used.Do this a couple of times then reconnect the brush and have a go.Alternatively I think you can get a water trap that will fit onto the airbrush itself hopefully eliminating all water problems although possibly making the brush more unwieldy. Hope this helps
Good luck , Rupert.

I've just started airbrushing using a Sparmax compressor with no tank.
It has a water trap but I was getting constant water flow.
I rectified this by really turning down my air pressure to as low as I could work with.
No water :)

Thanks for the rapid response gents.
My air compressor does have a water trap, with bleed nipple
But it doesn't seem to empty completely.
I will try out your suggestions and see how it goes,
Thanks again chaps
Happy modelling
Matt

I have a second smaller 'water trap' right under my airbrush, haven't had a single issue with water. I have a Sparmax compressor with a water trap on the outlet, but most water condensates in the airline.

Cheers

Hi Matt,
I had an issue with water, and have a water trap on my compressor. HOWEVER it was water in the hose, and it stays there for weeks if you don't dry it out. I hang my hose over a radiator overnight now and don't have any water spitting out. Hope this helps along with the other help you've received.
