F-16B/D Kit available?

Post by Unknown74 » Sat Aug 05, 2017 11:07 am

I have recently purchased a 172nd Scale Revell F-16A which lead me to think I should also try and obtain a kit of a twin seat F-16B/D to match it with, are there any decent 1/72nd F-16B/D kits on the market at the moment?

Revell's would be your best option, but is OOP, Kinetic/Skunkworks do quite a comprehensive block 52 'D' but has accuracy issues. And Italeri does quite a cheap universal boxing of single/twin sticks, which builds up ok. Hasegawa's are good too, but avoid Hobbyboss. Skale Wings also do an Israeli 'D', but haven't seen any write ups yet, and don't fancy trying it myself.

Shame the old Airfix Kit wasn't still available. Last Year I bought a replacement for the one I bought in 1987 which didn't quite go successfully and recently. Now I've been given a Revell kit with the orange scheme on it and I now regret making the Airfix example as a two seat and making them both as a What if F-16 Display Team by painting them both in the same scheme.
