Japan

Post by kieran » Fri Nov 30, 2018 12:19 pm

Hi guys,

Just looking (and drooling) over all of the pictures from Japan and their F-4's. I was thinking of going out in late February/early March, particularly for the Phantoms. Is it worth going by then considering there aren't any airshows? Hoping some guys that are out there now might know a bit more.

Thanks for looking anyway,

Why not PM those who are there and ask?

Always loved the Japanese Phantoms they have such interesting colour scemes and usually look so immaculate, youtube has some excellent videos of them,to be honest i thought they had been retired but i'm glad they haven't.

Completely worth it, Japanese are some of the most friendly people you'll come across, absolutely cracking spotting access nationwide.

The two remaining F4 sqns are at Hyakuri which holds an annual air show in December; pity you're going in the new year.

good video, but why is it that the JASDF can make an effort with special paint schemes and our own celebrations of 100 years of the RAF used stickers which looked like they were bought in poundland?.tory austerity i suppose!.

Perhaps it's because we're emgangee in a number of active operations, whereas the Japanese are not..?!

Good point EGVP,but i still think we could have made more of an effort for quite a significant event.
