Merkel's plane
Merkel's plane
Merkel's A340 made it as far as Cologne today en route to the G20 summit in Argentina. In October it was grounded due to electrical issues. Commercial flight for Frau Merkel Friday. Perhaps PM can offer a lift back and discuss Brexit...

The "failed" airframe was 16+01. At 14.10 16+02 just feet wet south of Nantes, pointing Southwest, presumably taking the rest of her entourage out and ready to bring her back.

Makes you wonder why they didn't use the 2nd airframe yesterday rather than commercial flight. Guess they were checking systems or crew issues. Bet Trump will mention GE defence spending, European army etc.

Re: Merkel's plane
16+02 had a ready cockpit crew and flew on to Cologne but due to crew rest issues, neither crew was allowed to continue to Argentina, in accordance with international applicable crew rest and flight time limitations and regulations.
And by the way, maintenance for the Airbus fleet is contracted to Lufthansa.
And yes, before they didn't know the cause, they didn't want to take an identical aircraft halfway across the globe which makes sense IMHO.

That's if Buenos Aires lets the British Prime Minister's aircraft go ! Don't mention the Falklands ( or Brexit)

Re: Merkel's plane
She has a tough task - it must be like trying to govern a mad house and I mean us ,the electorate, not Westminster!
One half of us want to maintain economic ties to the EU and all the free movement issues that creates. The other half seem to want us to return to the 1950s when phones boxes were used for making phone calls and not temporary overnight accommodation.
She would be better off staying in Argentina and becoming the next Eva Peron!

What’s a phone box, can’t imagine anyone being able to stay in the box my iPhone came in. Seriously though slogen51 hit the nail, dammed if you do and dammed if you don’t. Did anyone actually think we as a nation were going to come out of this all smiles and smelling of roses.
