Aljazeera reporting it as being an IL-76 with 'up to' 200 people on board
Cheers

Appears initial reports were inaccurate regarding fatalities. Now confirming IL-76 & 105 dead according to 'Sputniknews.com' via Scramble.

Definitely an IL76, it crashed on farm land, all the fatalities are from the 247 passengers and 10 crew.
It’s a rolling story here in Morocco.

The fin is lying more or less flat - what you can see sticking up is the tailplane.

And it seems a secondary floor can be fitted into the hold on an Il-76.

Sat 14th Update.
ASN reporting the airframe involved was 7T-WIV.
Incidentally this visited Southend in April 1999.

Mike.
