Re: REDS
They normally spend a month in Cyprus on their final work up before the season begins.
I have been back and forth to Lincoln over the last few weeks and normally would see the smoke trails in the sky but there as been nothing... so may be they are away.
Or the recent sad avents have kept them on the ground.

They’ve not been to Cyprus for several years now.Tiger 1 wrote:They normally spend a month in Cyprus on their final work up before the season begins.

I am sure Springhawk is at Greek Air Force base Tanagra.

Re: REDS
As a serving RAF officer quite clearly his first duty lies with the service. The Blades will simply have to find another pilot.sgtangel wrote:I see Sqn Ldr Ling has been brought back to fly red 3 whilst Flt lt Stark recovers. I guessed that would have been the case. I wonder how the Blades will deal with his departure?

Re: REDS
Would a further option be the return of the pilot who just left the 3 slot? - at least until Flt Lt Stark resumes his currency.
That way, they have a pilot specifically tailored with up to date experience in that position within the formation.

Re: REDS
The pilot who flew red 3 last year is still on the team but in another position. I think as Mike Ling was flying a desk I was easier to get him backreheat module wrote:Would a further option be the return of the pilot who just left the 3 slot? - at least until Flt Lt Stark resumes his currency.

Re: REDS
He has just lost a colleague in a crash in which he was the pilot, do you really think he will be back flying displays any time soon, if at all? I don't!reheat module wrote:Would a further option be the return of the pilot who just left the 3 slot? - at least until Flt Lt Stark resumes his currency.

I think the OP is referring to last years red 3, who is still on the team in a different position.bizfreeq wrote:He has just lost a colleague in a crash in which he was the pilot, do you really think he will be back flying displays any time soon, if at all? Re: REDS
I am aware of what he meant, my comment is in referrence to his about it only being temporary until Flt Stark regains currency

Re: REDS
Whilst that is a very valid point it is however the injuries that Flt Lt Stark sustained during the ejection from the crash at Valley that will prevent him flying for a while. I believe he is unlikely to be able to return to flying duties for a few months which would preclude him form taking any further part in the pre-season work up.bizfreeq wrote:He has just lost a colleague in a crash in which he was the pilot, do you really think he will be back flying displays any time soon, if at all?
