USAF has made a bid in the fiscal year 2019 budget for funds to convert 3 KC135R to WC135R nuclear sniffers.
2 of the current airframes are reaching the end of service life and they are becoming difficult to service.It has been decided that it's more cost effective to convert rather than rework the WC135W airframes.
I bet they are based middle East and Japan for obvious reasons.
