Great American Railroad Journeys

Post by Snoop 95 » Fri Feb 16, 2018 7:11 pm

An unlikely title for this Forum, but in todays episode Michael Portillo visited Naval Air Station North Island San Diego. There are some good shots of a variety of aircraft including F18, C5 and various helicopters. The first aircraft seen was a SAAB Gripen, which surprised me.
This episode should be available on iPlayer soon.

Michael's Maverick impersonation....well, why not?
Portillo never ceases to make me smile. Great programme, great presenter.
And the Gripen surprised me also.

As usual, this has been a great series. It's a real change to have a programme presented by someone with much more than half a brain!!. San Diego is a lovely city, with a great aircraft museum. Weren't allowed into Miramar the day we went, sadly. :(
