Great shame, was a fantastic looking aircraft.
Re: Miss Demeanour sold
Sorry to see probably THE BEST coloured Hunter I've ever seen depart for Canada but I'm sure she will be well looked after! Good luck Miss D.
Re: Miss Demeanour sold
Are they the company who do the contract work for the Canadian military (aggressors/target facilities etc)? If so it will be nice to think of it serving a useful purpose altho' I admit that it will be sadly missed on the airshow circuit.
Re: Miss Demeanour sold
Jonathon said Miss D will be put to work and will not display again.

F3
Yes they are the company that does that.

She will be sorely missed
Re: Miss Demeanour sold
Always very well flown and presented. A huge thanks from us 'Air Show' guys to Mr. Whaley. Somewhere on 'U'tube there is his full display from start up to shutdown {Biggin Hill] from the cockpit. Very interesting and excellent quality. [like his aircraft].

Very sad news. Always fantastically presented. Have so many great memories of her at airshows
Re: Miss Demeanour sold
I had quite a long chat with Jonathon Whaley at Manston a few years ago, he flew Miss D in the day before the display but a Dutch pilot actually displayed it at the show. He spoke at length about the costs and difficulties of keeping a vintage jet airworthy and basically the income from the UK display circuit couldn't sustain the Hunter, it was the overseas shows in the Middle East that made it viable. Echo all the comments above about missing it.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.
Re: Miss Demeanour sold
Having read the Facebook link, I found the contents to be a succinct account of the Trials & Tribulations-Vs-Reward of owning & operating a jet thoroughbred. The cool tenacity & confidence of Jonathon Whaley is evident throughout & possibly defined by naming his Hunter Miss Demeanour to deny the alleged crime of painting an aircraft in the colour-scheme he wanted!
This 'Man & Machine' combination will be sorely missed as a memorable element of the way it used to be? At least this aircraft seems to have a future beyond RTP, unlike the ex. Boscombe Down 'Blue Note' bought by Apache Aviation.
Good Luck to both of you.

Re: Miss Demeanour sold
Are Hunters allowed to fly again? Even if they are, I bet the cost of keeping one legally flying now along with the fear of a drastically shrunk air show market is enough to take a good offer.
