P-3Bs for Greece
NAVY
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, Marietta, Georgia, is being awarded $260,000,000 for undefinitized contract modification P00008 under a previously-awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N68335-16-C-0125). This modification provides for the modernization and upgrade of four P-3B aircraft in support of structural mid-life upgrades, tailored phased depot maintenance, a country-specific designed mission integration and management system, and new avionics in support of the government of Greece. The mid-life upgrade will provide a service life extension of 15,000 flight hours per aircraft. Work will be performed in Marietta, Georgia (38 percent); Schimatari, Greece (25 percent); Argyroupoli, Athens, Greece (11 percent); Tel Aviv, Israel (11 percent); Cedar Rapids, North Carolina (8 percent); Bellevue, Washington (3 percent); Los Angeles, California (2 percent); and Ottawa, Canada (2 percent) and is expected to be completed in December 2023. Foreign Military Sales funds in the amount of $59,508,625 will be obligated at time of award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, New Jersey, is the contracting activity.

Undefinitized eh! Let's think, what other words could we invent? Controlification? Fightiness?

However many new such words are invented, the meaning of each and every one of them will be found in future dictionaries' entries for 'b*llocks' and 'bullsh*t'.
Re: P-3Bs for Greece
its not new , here a snap from a DoD document
“Definitization” means the agreement on, or determination of, contract terms, specifications, and price, which converts the undefinitized contract action to a definitive contract.
+++++++++
Now u am sure that makes it a lot clearer !

It’s not what you look at that matters. It’s what you see.

Re: P-3Bs for Greece
Definitizing is a commonly used term in the US commercial legal world, we just don’t hear it used in everyday life.

I like Fightiness. I think that should be a performance parameter for all military types.mustang5861 wrote:Snoop 95 wrote:Undefinitized eh! Let's think, what other words could we invent? Controlification? Fightiness?

Re: P-3Bs for Greece
It's all Greek to me.
Re: P-3Bs for Greece
none of the reports actually mention that's these aircraft have been sitting around unused for best part
of 8 years after the Greeks ran out of money for the MLU
They received 6 P-3B + 4 P-3A's for spares use and went operation in 1997 by 2009 they money has gone they were WFU
since then the have been sitting around at Elefsina & Tanagra The money for the MLU is I believe coming from NATO & the US DoD
meanwhile at Elefsina thee are still a number of HU-16 Albatross rotting away having been replace by the Orion's,
maybe they should put some of these back in the air will be much cheaper to run !!

Re: P-3Bs for Greece
I can feel 'ATTS' comin' on! What's not to like about 'The Peoples Albatross'? Albatross to the Sky has a natural air of familiarity to it & should attract many donations being at the top of the alphabet compared to V!
Plus me & a few close chums need a cash-cow, 'til the Lottery cough-up!

Re: P-3Bs for Greece
This isn't exactly news anyway. The first aircraft were flown back to HAI at Tanagra for upgrade around the middle of last year and the first pilots have been training in San Antonio, TX and Jacksonville, Fl since the beginning of this year.
