Calling Cards
Hi all.
A while ago I visited Coningsby, for a look to see what was happening. Although there was quite a few people there, none of the guys I talked to admitted to been a member of fighter Control. Strange as it seems, when you see the amount of posts on here, from members visiting bases. ...
When I had a cup of coffee from the burger van, I got chatting to the owner, and two guys who regularly visited Coningsby, they said that most people keep themselves to themselves. I got to thinking of calling cards from members , which could be posted on the inside walls of burger vans, or even inside Wave (Waddington), just to say members have visited and put a date on. I know some of you do not want to give your real name, address, inside leg size & phone number ect ect, so just use your username.
I Myself put my calling card inside the Coningsby Burger van,(picture of My airfixpilot), with the date I was there. Hope its still there, so let me know if you see it.
Going on from this, I picked up my bro in law from doncaster airport last wednsday, and on the wall was a poster of a F16. Drawn to it, it said something to the effect of:
Aviation /Plane spotters, please help with the security of airfields, and report any abnormal activity, and any dodgy people you have not seen before, and report it... Yes we have a roll to play in the safety and security of bases and airfields. keep your eyes peeled.

Re: Calling Cards
Haha nice one!! Back on topic.....i can remember years ago when FC hadn't been around long ( yes I've been here a while!!) and one of our members, Mark ( you still around buddy?) produced some FC car stickers that we could buy. Seemed a good idea at the time and loads of us had them.
Cheers, Glenn

Cripes
Only too pleased if someone comes up to me at the 'Hall or the 'Heath and asks if I am 'Paddyboy'
Or was that 'Are you the ruddy annoying 'Paddyboy'?'
Cheers

Re: Calling Cards
Any form of Spotters ID scheme is to be applauded, I don't get around spotting much at the moment due to having to look after a sick relative but I do keep up through these online forums. Last pieces of spotting I could do were Scottish International Airshow at Ayr followed by watching the Reds performing their Flypast over Queensferry Crossing and the Flypast for the HMS Prince of Wales Aircraft Carrier.
Re: Calling Cards
Yep - can vouch for that - have been with you when somebody asked.......................paddyboy wrote:Or was that 'Are you the ruddy annoying 'Paddyboy'?'

Re: Calling Cards
My "calling card" is my old banger of a silver Ford S-Max with roof bars parked up at Coningsby every few weeks for a day with kids in tow (joy of home educating - it's a field trip) Feel free to approach and say hi!
