I've searched around for more news but it appears this story has gone quiet. The crash is attributed to "technical malfunction".

- Well how is this known, how was this conclusion reached?
- What communication came from the pilot before the crash?
- Any Mayday emergency declared / transmitted?

Or could it have been pilot error? Just wondering what brought about the "martyrdom" (Jane's 360) of the Saudi pilot.

Presumably Janes had seen some press release from the RSAF. Then again who knows, but I suspect Gareth was not reading this forum for a heads up.

Amazing the things you learn when working for serious media

Isn't it Saudi where pilots are never the cause of a crash? Even if they push the stick so far forwards that the camels don't stop getting bigger? It's always a technical malfunction, which irritates a certain manufacturer of the aircraft they crash. (Quotes from PPrune ad infinitum)
