Salisbury area query
Salisbury area query
Hi, I'm visiting Salisbury in a week's time for a family wedding. It's not an area I'm familiar with and wonder if someone could help me with some Mil frequencies for casual listening whilst I'm there? Also if I get a chance, anything worth spending a day at? I'm traveling from N Ireland so any mil movements will be a luxury!!!
Thanks in anticipation.

Re: Salisbury area query
You mentioned spending a whole day - assumed not Friday- in that case RNAS Yeovilton is only about 40 miles from Salisbury and Yeovil factory of course.
Re: Salisbury area query
Thanks for the quick replies and the suggestions. I'd seen that Middle Wallop and Boscombe Down weren't far away but wasn't sure how active they were. Can anyone offer any frequencies please for these or transiting aircraft?

Re: Salisbury area query
MRTT thank you. I'll stick those in the scanner and try to pick up some others over the next few days before we leave. My only concern is that my wife will wonder why I need to pack a camera, telephoto lens and scanner for a wedding!!!
Re: Salisbury area query
Keep a tight-hold on the camerabag & lose the Wife, works everytime!

Re: Salisbury area query
Thanks EGVP! staying not far from Boscombe, that's a really useful database. Unfortunately weather seems to have curtailed the flying!
Re: Salisbury area query
It did today apart from the usual rotary wing aircraft, ZJ647 who was airborne around 1120 and the DA42 which departed in the morning at some point but didn't return. Tomorrow (Thursday) should offer a little more, maybe even a Tucano duo in the afternoon which hasn't happened for a couple of years I believe.Triplog wrote:Unfortunately weather seems to have curtailed the flying!
