Bastille Day Flypast 14 July

Post by plmc135 » Fri Jul 07, 2017 7:27 am

For anyone thinking of going to gay Paris for the national day events, the following rather long press release gives full details of what will be in the flypast.

I got there in the end - 63 fixed wing, and 29 helos... :Wow: Could they just extend the out run a little? Say, as far as Gloucestershire...?

Always wanted to do this

Are the aircraft low enough to identify codes from photos?

If all you are worried about is the serials, full lists are usually posted on Scramble very quickly after the event.

Generally all the aircraft codes can be gleaned from photos taken of the flypast if you are positioned somewhere like Invalides. On a full frame camera 300-400mm is ample for the formations. Less if its a crop sensor.
This year it appears the practice will be one of either 10th, 11th or 12th July, probably to allow the Thunderbirds flight leaders to participate.

To give an idea of Scramble's coverage the following is the link to last year's event.
