Currenlty Thunderstorms in the Suffolk/Norfolk area, so don't know if the flypast this way will be scrubbed

Yeah! Another well-planned exercise in Private celebration on Public Funding counts for nothing!! They should've done it last week in the good weather & gone-over Museums, Cities & peoples' houses, just like the guy said on the 'other' Forum.
This is always the problem with celebrating an Anniversary on a fixed date ;), you invoke the wrath of God!...probably?

To be fair to the guys, its a training squadron and it was a good exercise in navigating a formation from one end of the UK to the other, including getting their feet wet. Getting permission to fly over cities etc. would have been a tough call. Hopefully they get another crack at it soon.

Had a good view of the formation at Biggin Hill and was pleased to see they made two passes, which I didn't expect. Very nicely flown and worth seeing. Well done to all on 72(r) Sqn who made it happen and ya boo sucks to that old misery Supra who clearly doesn't get any fun in life!!

I'm just not gonna be available for the next significant Anniversary due to an appointment with the worms! I could've seen them in sunshine at about 4 locations down South if I could've got excited, but alas 4 Tucano's together with wiring me into the Mains supply won't do that!
My comments were merely reflected the groaning on the 'other' Forum?
PS:- I get more than enough fun taking the pee out of others ;)

Four Tucano's!!!. Like Supra, these days it would take much more than that to get this old man excited!. Four nubile blondes might do the trick though!!. :D :D :S :S
Tucano's???? er nope.

A sad do about the weather scrubbing part of the celebration. How English!

Thanks for posting the two shots, at least we have an idea of what might have been.

Only four aircraft? Shows an excellent judgement call by the planning staff. No sense in getting too many aircraft wet if it wasn't necessary.
I can still remember, just, the 15 that appeared out of the clag as they returned low-level after the Queen's 60th.

Hissing down today, 31C here last week; at least politicians worldwide are consistent.

OK found this on @RAFTucanoTeam, not terribly informative given that they've all gone home for the weekend:

Just heard now that 'Tour' has been scrubbed but the pair will make a direct line to Aldergrove. Will wait for official word... if ever

I shouldn't have been a cynic; just Tweeted:

Unfortunately poor weather has meant we're unable to complete the Grand Flypast but we're still hoping to landaway Northern Ireland
