It does say further down the "article" that the Vanguard subs carrying our nuclear arsenal are serviceable and at sea and HMS Astute is at sea undergoing sea trials, so not all our subs are broken as the headline would imply!

Stating IIRC "that the whole Vanguard fleet & all 3 Astute Sub's are currently not at sea"
Possibly factually correct, as sooner or later there's a crew-change & replenishment....but definitely not the same as 'all unserviceable.'

Last night one journo taking part in a studio discussion stated the Royal Navy only has 85 ships total and 50% of those are unserviceable. He added the fleet has lost 10,000 sailors since the year 2000.

When our first carrier sets sail watch the dockyards down south. Most if not all our Navy
will be in dock to supply crewmen for the much to be publicised launch. As it goes out of sight
most of these crews will be returned to their normal ships or not at all so in turn these ships
could be mothballed oh I mean maintenance.
No doubt the Admirals (how many do we have?) are one wave ahead and have asked our friends
the French to supply crew until the Marines show up.

I guess if the Navy are unable to provide the UK with a nuclear deterrent then the responsibly should be returned back to the RAF.
That should give the RAF a few new Sqdns and aircraft

There is nothing wrong with the Navy's nuclear deterrent carrying subs as I stated earlier in this thread. They are operating normally. This article, if you read it, is about the hunter killer subs or lack thereof.
