OR, maybe should I have said "When will the next 'design error'-related "accident" happen?"

Being as the the Carrier Group are due to depart from their stations off Syria, does anyone know if the return journey will be the the same as the outward leg?

On the RT news channel, they showed a few statistics. Nearly 500 sorties flown, 177 of them at night. Over 1,200 terrorist targets destroyed.

Being cynical, does 1 house = 1 target, therefore a row of terraced houses = 5+ targets if all destroyed?

Any chance of a Russian goodwill visit to Portsmouth, as Kuznetsov returns through the channel.

No, but if they delay steaming up The Channel until after 20th, there's a chance of a launch and a goodwill visit to an American airbase near you......... :pop:

Doubt there will be any visits given the current climate, and there are rumours going about that the fixed wing element of the air arm was disembarked to a land base around a fortnight ago.

Not sure of the answer to your question but as far as I have read the 'Kuzya's' deployment was an almost unmitigated disaster. Two aircraft lost due to separate arrestor cable failures and half way through the deployment the embarked aircraft were despatched to a land base so that they could be properly utilised. Seems to me that the Kuznetsov is sailing back with her tail between her legs....

HMS Quorn is also in the area, German frigate appears to be down as well.

According to a post on Twitter, HMS Ocean is taking part in a mission in the Gulf, highly doubt they've brought it back up here to shadow the Kuznetsov.

The navy's latest attack pedalo was seen departing portsmouth to shadow the Russians :P

I'd didn't know the Navy actually had a ship named after a veggie meat replacement, but I guess like Quorn sausages they're vaguely like the real thing but somewhat lacking.

Lots of NATO vessels currently sailing up the channel shadowing the Russians, including HMS Ocean. Guess the RN decided to bring their flagship to the party.

Confirmed to be a German frigate down there, not sure what else! HMS Ocean is in the Gulf, though.
