Shackleton and Nimrod interview

Post by robyoung » Sun Aug 20, 2017 6:07 pm

Here is an interview with former Shackleton and Nimrod pilot, Brian Withers MBE AFC. He chats about flying both types in the maritime patrol role for the RAF including some stories from his old SQN's and also flying the Nimrod R1 in Gulf War 1 with 51 SQN (obviously this is limited due to the sensitive nature!)

Enjoy

It is good to have hosted another of your interviews at the museum & this time with 'one of our own'!

Brian is a museum Vice-President & a regular cockpit opener on our Shackleton, which he has several hours on with 42 Squadron! :thumb:

I had a really enjoyable morning and it was brilliant to get a tour of the old girl. I believe he has 250hrs on her :)
