Canadian PM,s Visit to Edinburgh.

Post by Punkrunner62 » Sat Jul 01, 2017 5:05 am

Hi all,Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau due to meet the Queen at Holyrood House on Wednesday 5th July.He is arriving from Dublin and then onto Hamburg for G20 Summit.I presume he will arrive on a CC-150.
If anyone has a ETA for him it would be appreciated as i may make the trip down from Aberdeen.
Thanks.
P.S.If anyone knows of good locations for photography under the approaches as i have not been to the airport for years, thanks again.

That looks like it's worth a visit to Edinburgh, at least I only have to come up from the Borders.

Don't know what you mean by "under the approaches ", but if you want side on's, the railway bridge behind the old RAF base if they are landing from the East, and if from the West, there is a foot bridge over the A8 at Ratho, that gives good uncluttered views of aircraft just prior to landing.

Is it easy for parking near the locations you have mentioned?.Under the approaches was probably not the right phrase to used did mean side on.
Thanks.

The railway bridge option is usually easy enough to park at. The footbridge is a little more awkward. I usually have to find somewhere in Ratho to dump the car and head to the bridge. There is parking on the A8 at some houses, but it is for residents only. I have used it though on a hit and run basis. You could also try Ingleston show ground, but it's been a while since I've been in there, and if there is something on at Ingleston it is probably best to avoid it. Looking at the long range forecast, the wind looks to be from the West, so the railway bridge looks like it will be your best bet. Also if it is in and out the same day, you could get it at both ends.

If it's a CC150 I would expect it to be 15001 the VIP machine

Unfortunately not. I would assume some point this morning, the aircraft is still parked on cargo as of 0800 this morning :thumb:
