I've just missed an Apache.........

Post by Unknown74 » Thu Nov 15, 2018 4:31 pm

Was absolutely gutted earlier on, I had only just gone into my Study by minutes and heard something making a heck of a racket and I never knew what it was, was it a car on the road, no, unfortunately for me it was an Apache Helicopter - Heard on radio as Gunship 2?(I think?) but sadly never saw it sadly.

When I lived in Embra they were called flats, is that the same as an apartment?

Yes indeed I did, heard a noise & wondered what it was, put the Scanner on only to hear Edinburgh Tower talking to Gunship2 & mention of an Apache.

I saw the Apache but, earlier in the day, there was another helicopter which flew over near to us at Greenend . Don't know if he was a US Navy Seahawk or one of our Merlins. I suspect he sent the Apache to make sure I was still working in the garden.

I think you might have seen an NH.90? I believe there are Belgians at Otterburn & I noted on EGPH that one overflow Edinburgh recently. Yes I also saw the US Navy Seahawks recently.(well one anyway.

Would have been a Wildcat which was also flying over Edinburgh zone on Thursday.

Not bad, Edinburgh seems to be attracting a few Military Helicopters recently. Could do with some Mil Fixed Wing, even though parking may be a little tight now.

Oh dear I've been out most of the day & just seen Ally Ballys post, these Apaches seem to avoid me for some reason.
