Guess it's XR808? Which has been circling for a while, showing on PP as Ascot (RRR)870. Glad I got to see it at Waddington if it is
Posh are going to Wembley (albeit for a tin cup)

I'm fairly dure it did a missed approach (or touch and go) at Yeovilton on 09. Now headed back up to Brize at 5000', on a Brize squawk.

Any more news on Bob's delivery? I have read on UKAR that 808 is due into Cosford tomorrow (17th) but I have no idea if that's just a rumour or fact so I am currently holding off the 320 mile round trip as that's a long day out for nothing ;)

The crew at Yeovilton said there were quite a few options, outstanding items to be resolved and the whole delivery to Cosford is very fluid at the moment.

It has also been suggested that the weather would play a factor to the actual day of delivery, as a head wind was preferred - this didn't come via the aircrew but via someone that works at Cosford, so it simply could be a rumour.

Heard there's the wind, possible rail stoppage, crash cover and other factors yet.

If Scarecrow warns you of wind - it's best to heed - trust me! :D

I have been told its going to Shawbury to be sent to Cosford via road. Could well be an alternative rather than 'the plan' though.

I was at Cosford today and asked the question, it seems they don't have much idea on arrival dates/times at the moment, so who can tell.
Cheers

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Morton66

Thats interesting as the guy from 101 Sqn I spoke to said the exact opposite about roading it. Mainly due to the smaller roads around Bruntingthorpe, and that its a big aircraft, also the MoD got stung over when they got the bills for moving stuff out of Lyneham by road.

I guess time will tell, however he did say that if went to Bruntingthorpe it would be gonig the same way as everyone except the K.4 :(

The VC10 is due to arrive on Thursday at 9.30am.

It will be landing on runway 06 coming in over Shifnal.

Gutted that I can't get there, I'll be on way to Fairford.

Cheers

Not sure where that info is from Gaviscon but as of now (9:15am) there are no VC-10's in the air according to live military mode. My other half spoke to someone at 101Sqdn yesterday and they stated that due to the amount of interest Brize has had over XR808's retirement they will be putting information up on both the RAF website and the Facebook page. I hope this is true and Bob simply won't sneak into Cosford!
