NATO Frisian Flag 2013 EHLW
From Monday, April 15 to Friday, April 26, participants practice flights for both air defense and air support to ground troops. Besides French Mirages also Eurofighters from Germany, F-16s from Belgium and the Netherlands and Swedish JAS-39 Gripens participated in this exercise. Further more fulfill Dutch KDC-10 tanker and AWACS radar aircraft from NATO and the United Kingdom a role. Expected Polish F16s (not for sure)

Haven't seen anything confirmed yet but German Eurofighters are rumoured te be flying out of Neuburg and Norvenich during this years edition...

It is true. Due to lack of personell those German Tiffy's are due to participate out of their homebases. Despite the 22nd April. On that day they will took off from Cologne Bonn.
First week they will operate out of Neuburg, second week out of Nörvenich!! (Source: German AF)

Well, our source at RNLAF says the opposite ........
14-3-2013: Lecture attended at Airbase Leeuwarden over FF2013 given by the supervisor of the exercise. From his story, we realized that all fighters will operate from Leeuwarden, as well the Norwegian Falcon and Learjet Skyline. Also a C-130 as a slow mover from EHLW will participate in a number of scenarios. Tankers and AWACS flying of course from their home bases.
Hopefully this answer will help.....

Myself and Graham Ford decided a few months ago to repeat last years excursion to Leeuwarden for the Frisan Flag exercise, and what a great first day we had!
40 aircraft launched for both sorties on Tuesday...no callsigns noted by me, nor timings, too busy photgraphing this lot...I'll list what we saw...just to give a taster of what its like...first aircraft away was based helicopter R-02, followed closely by Learjet N116MA...then the fun began!!

Also seen at the end of the line up of Grippens, Eurofighters in the HAS area were the two based preserved jets, SU-20 98+62 and Mig-21 22+40 neither of these were read off...
156 fast jet movements between 0915 and 1400....splendid sport...
All in all a great first day...ALL participants in the exercise were seen allowing us all day Wednesday to go wreck hunting...regards
