Re: travel help required
Just saw your request for travel directions to De Kooy NL.
In fact it is rather easy, wether you drive yourself or by public transport.
Public transport:
Fly to Amsterdam Schiphol. (once every two weeks a Flybe / Loganair flight from Norwich comes at De Kooy)
Take the train to Amsterdam-Sloterdijk and than hop over in the train to Den Helder. Check http://www.ns.nl/en (train planner English)
When you stay for some days you probalby will stay n a hotel in the centre if so stay in the train to the end station.
Then you can take the train back to Den Helder Zuid (South) or take the bus that stops near the main gate along the road N250 (N9)
When you stay for one day you can step out at Den Helder Zuid (South). From there it is a 20 minute (1,7 km) walk to runway 21.
just use Google maps route planner to check distances and walking time.
You can also check my website http://denhelderaviationphotos.weebly.com/ at the Roadmap tab for charts and spotting places eg.
By foot you can walk around De Kooy completely.
Travelling by car is perhaps more convinient when you want to change spotting locations. Near runway 21 enough parking place. Den Helder airport opposite main building (left side of taxi row 1/2 hour free. back side of Bristow hangar free. See for further details website and google street view.
Succes.
