old used 35mm films

Post by YellowBelly » Fri Feb 23, 2018 12:04 am

found 4 in a drawer, must be at least 20 years old, are they worth getting developed or are they likely ruined?

if good to go, where the hell do you get such things developed these days? :D

cheers

You don't say what sort of film you have, but I use Peak Imaging for colour slide processing. They're not cheap but the results have always been excellent.

The images may have deteriorated over 20 years but I believe you should still get something useable.

A quick check online came up with quite a few places that still do film processing.

Try one roll initially to see the results - if any good get the remaining rolls done

Think Snappy Snaps still do print processing, if not there maybe an independent near you (better results as you can discuss with them as they usually have an interest) - have a go with Google

I've found a bag of about 20 35mm films so I'll get them processed but then I can scan the negatives myself, saves me paying for prints.

Truprint do them by mail order. You should get something from them. The cooler they have been kept, the better the longevity of the preserved images.
