Micro 4/3s & Mirrorless

Post by PR9 » Thu Feb 02, 2017 4:33 pm

Hi,

Are the newer generation of compact interchangeable lens cameras any good for aviation shots?
I understand they have EVF rather than a traditional viewfinder, does this make them harder to work with than a DSLR and is there the dreaded shutter lag you get with bridge?

TIA

If you look at my Duxford Bimbles, you will see that they were taken mostly with Sony A6300 mirrorless camera.

I've used it for the last Duxford air show - viewtopic.php?f=19&t=136635

The only down side I've found to using the electronic viewfinder is that in bright sunlight it's difficult to see any thing but a baseball hat with a good peak provides lots of shade to see an image.

A Sony aA6300 Compact Systems Camera(24mp APS-C mirrorless) + Sony FE 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 G OSS telephoto zoom lens.

Great shots Brian.

Is the Sony on par with a DSLR for speed with focusing and shooting?

Think Sony state its the fastest focusing Aps-c camera on the market,
So yes it's faster then most Dslr's.
11 fps is fast also.
