Suppliers

Post by sneezy24 » Tue Aug 23, 2016 10:02 am

Hi folks,

I'm about to upgrade from my trusty EOS 550D to an EOS 80D with 18-135 IS USM lens, plus a 50 1.8 prime (not for aircraft!) and a Canon Speedlight.

WEX and Jessops seem about the same price, I don't want a grey import, and price is not the main issue, customer service and support is.

Thoughts? I can go to my local Jessops (Reading) and walk away with the kit, but does buying from WEX have any advantages (or any other suppliers for that matter).

Or you could go into Healas (John Lewis) in Reading & get them to Price Match Jessop's as their extended Warranty may well be better.

Thought about that, but they don't do the kit I want (80D with 18-135USM).

Pity about them, not having the lens, they always put an extended warranty on goods at John Lewis.

I would be inclined to go through Wex. Not all that impressed with dealings I have had with Jessops in the past.

Hi Mick,

you might of done this already but you could always add Calumet to the list, very usually they are on par with Wex and tend to run the same promotions, depending on what make is having what sort of promotion at the time. Both Wex and Calumet are very much the same but its always good to have another string to your bow if you do find a difference in price.

hope this helps

Thanks,

I went with Wex in the end, great service, good price - and got a good trade-in on my Tamron for a 50mm prime (plus some other bits n bobs)
