Panamoz any drawbacks ?

Post by Andy_99 » Tue Jun 07, 2016 2:06 pm

Quick Q for everybody out there, I know many of you have potentially used Panamoz for purchasing

1) Any drawbacks ? I know they offer a 3 year warranty on Lenses as they sell grey imports, is it worth the paper it's written on ?
2) Any issues with Customs as some of the kit comes from Hong Kong ? I know they say the price they quote is the price you pay but......

I'm almost at the point of ordering my 100-400 L Mk2 & Panamoz are about £100 cheaper than HDEW (who I've used) & £300+ cheaper than most UK sourced outlets.

If nobodies got any bad experiences I'll be ordering a month earlier than expected & have my shiny new toy in time for RIAT.

Only had good experiences with Panamoz. Ordered my 7D II and 100-400 II from them and both were delivered really quickly with no issues.

Never had a problem with them and a few chaps ordered stuff from them at my suggestion - again with no problems. Don't know anybody who has used the waranty yet and no probs with customs. Order in the mornings as the prices creep up during the day ;)

Ordered quite a bit of stuff from them, 70-200 f2.8, D7200 and grip, D810 to name a few. They provide tracking all the way from HK, and its very very fast, usually 2-3 days. Never had a tech problem with any of the stuff i've bought from them, but from what i've read they are true to their word when it come to repairs etc. I'll probably be ordering a D500 from them in the near future

A colleague at work ordered a 5D III and grip, followed by a 50/1.2, far cheaper than anywhere else and no problems at all. I believe Canon operate a world wide warranty so there shouldn't be any problems. My 7D originated in USA, thought I had a problem which turned out to be finger trouble but Canon here were happy to deal with it via Calumet.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.
