Morning Everyone,

can anyone please advise on a Canon EF300mm f/4L IS USM Lens please I have been thinking of getting one for a while but I was wandering how good the image quality was?

Excellent and a lot sharper than my 100-400mm mk1 !

I did wonder, iv used my 100-400 at airshows and base spotting, but its no where near as good as my 70-200 I did wander about and extender for that ?

If its sunny I try and use the 100-400 at f8, it the weather is not good then I will revert to either a 70-200 or a 300 prime. Although I have a 1.4 extender i only use it on the 300 for longer reach.

Having owned one for now 10 Years it's a excellent piece of Kit. If there was one slight fall with it it's that on a 7D2 it won't achieve a Full 10FPS unless locked at f4 but other than that it's light,sharp and worth every penny.

As an aside, have you ever considered the 400mm 5.6L? It's in the same price range as the 300, if you can ignore it's obvious flaw - no IS, the 400 is a demon of a lens. I've owned mine since 2012 and love it, won't part with it :thumb:
