You will lose autofocus, I was thinking this lens as an alternate to the 300 with the 1.4 attached, for me 300mm is just too short for most part I would imagine you would nearly always have the 1.4 attached.Mark wrote:Pretty sure i'll lose the autofocus on a 400 5.6 with a 1.4 converter attached bearing in mind i'm only using a 60d at present. Not military I'm afraid, but had the first outing with the new lens at local airfield yesterday.
Very impressed, cannot wait for the weather to warm up a bit, and get to a military airfield.
