Compact Flash - SD / SDXC adapters

Post by xkekeith » Mon Nov 16, 2015 1:05 pm

Was looking to buy new Compact Flash memory to use in a Canon 7D when I saw an CF adapter being advertised so you can use this arrangement with SD cards in place of the more expensive CF memory. As I have a number of SD cards already was tempted but did not know if it would work. Does anyone use these CF / SD adapters in a Canon body?

I would buy a new CF card rather than risk something extra going wrong.............

I get my cards from here............

at £17.99 for an 8gb one, that's quite good

I have two of these, one each for my 7d & 5dii. I bought the first one just as trial to see how/if it works.
As far as I can tell, whilst it does introduce another possibility for failure, it works fine and I personally have not noticed any performance issues even on the 7d burst mode.
For info, I got them from 7dayshop.
