However, if you are a bit imited on funds, the 7D mk1 is a bargain at the moment.. I picked up one 2 weeks ago for £439 from MPB. Shutter count only 6700, its like new...

That is what I am aiming for, it is nice to hear happy buyers of these used, low count cameras!Molitor5901 wrote:However, if you are a bit imited on funds, the 7D mk1 is a bargain at the moment.. I picked up one 2 weeks ago for £439 from MPB. Shutter count only 6700, its like new...

Re: Canon 7D questions.
I am being constantly amazed with the quality coming out of my 7d pictures, every one is sharp with so much detail the build quality of this cam is brilliant - not over heavy but that reassuring solid feeling, and this may sound funny but even the shutter feels well damped so that there is little to no vibration when the shutter button is pressed, this no doubt helps with keeping the (((shakes))) down.Tinker Toy wrote:That is what I am aiming for, it is nice to hear happy buyers of these used, low count cameras!Molitor5901 wrote:However, if you are a bit imited on funds, the 7D mk1 is a bargain at the moment.. Re: Canon 7D questions.
Yeah i think that is the only thing what lets down the 70D is the plasticky feel to it.Cornish-guy wrote:Tinker Toy wrote:Lovely photograph there!
From the price point of going with a second hand 7D I think I will stick with that, and get an upgrade on the kit lens.
I do have a nice Sigma 150-500 I use as a zoom! Thank you for the recommendation though, sometimes a smaller zoom is more useful and kinder on the arms. Now just to stalk the right one on the dark depths of Ebay.
I went to a local camera shop to have a look at the 70D and was surprised by the feel, the new Canon cameras have a really brittle feeling plastic on them. While inconsequential to image quality they felt radically different to the older canons I have used.
Sent you a PM

My first slr was the old canon 10D which i still have and that is built more like the 7d.
But i have taken my 70d all over the place in the states in very hot desert conditions to heavy rain and it has never given me any problems.

Re: Canon 7D questions.
Sorry for the quietness on that! Purchased one used from MPB photographic yesterday, low shutter count and excellent condition! As well as a battery grip from the old Ebay!Cornish-guy wrote:Any news on the 7d hunt?

Sadly no 7Ds with that little use were floating around on Ebay, and I wanted the camera this week!
I will post some images on FC to show you guys what your great advice helped produce! So thank you very much!

Re: Canon 7D questions.
Im glad you are getting on the with 7D, its a great camera when you know how to work around it limitations. Ironically im selling mine now to fund a mk 2. So itll be good to see what the differences work out to.
