Lens recommendations for 6D mk 2?

Post by GVLCN » Sat Oct 06, 2018 9:26 pm

Hi all,

Will be looking to upgrade my lens soon, currently have the 100-400mm sigma and it’s great but I need a bit longer reach.
I did have this sigma & a 500mom f4.5 prime which I’ve since sold.

Can anyone please give me some good advice? I had the 150-600mm sport on a 7d mk ii and was not overly impressed so I sold it.

Would it be worth looking into again now I have a full frame sensor?

Best regards Andy

I think you will get more out of the Sigma lens with a full frame camera. I have the 150-500 and I don't get the full benefit of it with my cropped sensor, although its good enough for my needs. Or you could go with the Canon 100-400 L series with a 1.4 converter.

Thanks John, I did have the 150-500 but will try and get the 150-600 for the little extra reach.

Thanks for advice,
Cheers Andy

I can vouch for the Canon 100-400 mk2 with a 1.4x mk3 converter. It is a compromise but mostly the results are solid.
