Wow. I think that the first shot [Gnats] is R.A.F. Halton, with the old Bessaneau [spelling??] hangar in the background. Our 613 Gliding School aircraft were kept in there.

Hi to...Rob666,1marshn30 & Jem60...So glad you have looked and remarked about them. I took the Gnat line-up at Halton, in the very early 1980s on slide film.I then copied the old slides on to my Nikon camera and went to the 4th ikon on the menu listing. This gave the option amongst a few others to mess about with the image whilst in the camera. One of the options was "Minature" and I selected this and you just follow a few notes and hey presto...you have the result. Some people refer to this method of shot as a tilt shift type!...I'll have another go at a few more that might suit the method soon...cheers.. :thumb:

Hi, Jaybee. I was a Staff Cadet on that Gliding School for 3 years, 1958 onwards. Apart from family considerations, arguably the best 3 years of my life!!.Regards, John.

I always thought it was one of those modern 'Rubb' hangars!

The Bessoneau hangar was designed before 1910!!!!. It came in a kit of parts and was readily transferable!!,

Hi jem60...One of the nice parts about photography, is the shared image old or new, can bring back memories. I was a trucker at the time and going round the area
I would have my 45 minute break there often.. :thumb:
