Bruntingthorpe 27.05.18
Bruntingthorpe 27.05.18
This event is great, I wish to thank everybody associated with the day for their hard work and ensuring everybody had a good time.
To see aircraft like the Lightning, Hunter, Buccaneer, Comet, Victor, Iskra, Delphin etc at close quarters is awesome.
Also, a big thank you to the chap from Leeds, FC Member, (forgot your name sorry) who kindly let my niece to the front so she could see.
Must say I do not get people who use step ladders when at the front already
I shot in Jpeg for once and enjoyed trying to get it right in camera.
Some shots from the day just to paint the picture really for those who may be considering going.

and finally if you have not read the books Out of the Blue which are edited by Chris and Dim I can highly recommend them.
Out Of The Blue: The Final Landing is the last in the highly successful series from Ian Cowie, Dim Jones and Chris Long.
100% of the profits from the sale of the books is donated to military charities with 50% to the RAF Benevolent Fund and 50% divided between ABF The Soldiers' Charity and The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity equally.
The two chaps in the flesh, it was a great pleasure to meet them.

Spot on pics, must get myself down there..minus ladder lol
Re: Bruntingthorpe 27.05.18
Looks like a good day. Goes to show that some of us Tykes are decent types. Agree totally with your point about ladders. At the Scampton arrivals days last year they were banned from the front of the crowdline which I thought a good policy. Can't stand those selfish types who want the best vantage points whilst ruining everybody else's. There's an argument for banning them altogether in my view (get it?).

Hi to all,

I got it
I do not have a problem with people using step ladders at the back of a line of people or when there is a high fence to shoot over.
However, I get frustrated when it is a low crowd line fencing, as at Bruntingthorpe, and somebody at the front is stood on step ladders or folding work platforms.
How do they expect other people to see over them when their 8 feet in the air.
I have asked, politely, in the past for people to come down and allow others to see to only face a barrage of foul language.
That's why I do not bother anymore, I feel the event organisers have to either allow them at the rear of a line of people or ban them altogether.
Just my opinion I'm sure others will have theirs.
All the best
Andy

Hi Andy,
A really great set of images, love the Buccaneer airbrake and the deployed Lightning chute shots.
Have to agree with your sentiments in relation to step ladders as well.
I have booked tickets for the spotters day and airshow at Kleine Brogul, let me know if you are going and we can share costs

If anyone is selfish enough to place ladders at the front, and then respond with bad language, I'm sure a few of those struggling to see jostling against the ladders may persuade them to come down or move on. It must be pretty wobbly up there! Can't be good for photography from wobbly ladders eitherLTFT5 wrote: ↑Thu May 31, 2018 6:51 amHi to all,
