Lightnings by Night - Bruntingthorpe 4th November 2017
A fantastic evening spent at Bruntingthorpe last night, my first attendance of a nightshoot of any kind, although the 'movers and shakers' in the form of F6s XS904 and XR728 were in the dusk. All in all, with the added transportation by bus to the Gilmorton end for the ORP scramble, a big success for the organisers and the LPG - well done!

Thanks chaps! A real pleasure to stand witness to these aircraft moving about and making their noises. Although being too young myself to remember the Cold War, it certainly felt as though I was back in time!JONLITE06 wrote:Great Pics!

Great set George. It was an awesome evening and brought back memories of the good old days. My two sons were awed by the sheer noise and power. They haven't stopped talking about it.
Well done LPG.

Thank you all! My first Twilight Run and I can only echo your sentiments - the sheer experience of four afterburning Avons in under thirty seconds, only metres away... The vibrations were sickening, most definitely standing beside 728 during the static reheat section of the scramble. Pure delight at being able to see these in their elements. Will most certainly be attending again next year - to any of you reading, who haven't been or are thinking of attending - it's a hearty recommendation to do so from me!F3 wrote:Always nice to see Lightnings again.
