Avalon 2017 Pt 2

Post by KJ994 » Sun Mar 12, 2017 5:39 am

Thanks for the comments fellas. Here are some more, mostly from the Sunday when the weather and light were less good.

14. Sopwith Snipe replica

15. Eurocopter Tiger

16. B350 King Air

17. Coulson C-130Q N130FF, deployed to Avalon for Victoria's summer fire season
Image

18. CA-16 Wirraway, Temora Aviation Museum
Image

19. Australia's first two F-35As were at the show. One flew briefly but satisfyingly (and very noisily) on the Saturday. Sunday's crowds had to make do with this near-silent low tow-by.

20. Harvard in WW2 SAAF colours. Built as an SNJ-4 in 1944, and currently one of the Southern Knights 4-ship display team.

21. E-7A Wedgetail A30-004 (The wedgetail eagle is Australia's largest bird of prey)
Image

22. F-18A A21-16
Image

23. MH-60R Seahawk
Image

24. P-8A A47-001
Image

25. MRH-90 Taipan (The taipan is a small and deadly snake found in Northern Australia)
Image

26. KC-30A (sporting that useful extra item that the RAF's Voyagers lack)
Image

27. C-17A
Image

28. About to roll: part of the F-22A despatch ceremony. I lost my flying shots of the F-22A and F-35A due to a basic bit of camera mishandling. Grrrr!

And that's it folks. Thanks for looking.

Great photo log. The Australians have silently been spending the dollars getting a modern deployable force together.
