Duxford Sunday ~ 14Sep14

Post by Pen Pusher » Sun Sep 14, 2014 7:35 pm

A better flying display today than Saturday although the lack of sunlight until very late in the afternoon made photography a bit interesting. I thought the highlights of the day being the Lancaster's and 727. It was nice to see the Lancaster's but did nothing for me but the 727 was excellent and out of the Vulcan on Saturday and 727 today, I'm afraid the 727 display wins hands down with steep climbs and wing overs and tight turns. I hope the Vulcan people were watching as that was how to display a large multi-engined aircraft. The only thing missing was a bit of spray out the bars at the back. Well done to 2Excel Aviation for something different. In the order they were taken.

No it was just two Lancaster's flying backwards and forwards, what is there to get excited or emotional about?

I find it hard to believe the Lancs did nothing for you . I only managed to catch them twice on their tour and found them to be both amazing and awe inspiring and an fantastic tribute to Bomber Command . I know we all like different things but for me the 2 Lancs have been without doubt the most memorable and significant aviation event of the year by far

I can understand what you mean by the Lancaster flypasts. Back on topic, great shots, love the 727.

If the Lancs did nothing for you then fair enough, your opinion. I agree with your comment on the 727, that was a nice piece of flying. Good photos by the way.

If two Lancs doesn't do anything for you then go check your pulse mate, I reckon it's stopped.

I do have a pulse and I've seen all the hype but I live in the real world and I make up my own mind and not follow every one else like sheep. I was going to buy something of the trailer until I saw the rip-off prices.

Different things do different things for different people. Its what makes life interesting. Everyone should respect that as if we all just liked one type it would be boring!

727 for me :)
