Meeting de l'Air 2017 de Bordeaux-Mérignac

Post by LTFT5 » Sat May 20, 2017 7:30 am

Hi to all,
I managed to get to this show, which was extremely well organised, very easily from Bordeaux train station.
This was a great meeting with some real classic's on display and for me the first viewing of Couteau Delta flying the 2000D.
Couteau Delta are as tight as Ramex Delta use to be and should wow the crowds at RIAT.
Highlight for me was the Alenia Aermacchi M-346 Master from the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF).
I have posted a selection of shots to give a feel of the show from live side and the static display.

Really nice pictures - wish I had gone now.

Are both the M2000D in the two tone desert scheme?

Just the one is in a desert scheme and when flying gives a great contrast to the other jet in standard camo.
Unfortunately it did not fly at Bordeaux the two standard camo 2000Ds flew.
Great meeting and it may well be worth considering St Dizier in July.

Hi Jon
Good to hear from you, thanks for the kind comment.
That Camo jet just looks fantastic, as I've said shame it did not fly maybe it will at RIAT.

Once again thank you, I still have a lot of images to process from the heritage hangar, once done I will post some more.

Hi looked a very nice show and as you say you achieved a nice 'feel' for how the show was. Many thanks for sharing.
I cannot pick a favourite as they are all so good

I can also vouch that it was a great show, with the historic aircraft from the museum contrasting nicely with the modern military. The sand/brown Mirage did fly on the Saturday but may well have been tech on Sunday as it seemed to have some panels removed.

Great set of pics. Was good to see the museum stuff and the variety was good of all types. And i couldnt agree more the star of the show was the M-346 from singapore. Was a very nimble machine as caught it departing monday.

Nice photos. In the third photo it looks like the Alpha Jet pilot has parked a pair of wicketkeeping gloves on the coaming.

Some great shots there!

We have Couteau Delta lined up for the NATO Day show in the Czech Republic in September, I'm looking very forward to seeing them. If they're as good as RAMEX Delta, it will be a great display indeed.

Thanks for posting Andy - it was worth the trip.

This was a much better show than I was expecting - the big positives were the museum/preserved aircraft, some of which were nicely positioned in the static, a reasonable mix of visiting aircraft, and being able to get very close to the flightline. Plus the weather was fairly good too!

It certainly was and with the great weather and the sun behind your back, for the majority of the day, it could not have been any better.

Thank you and I could not agree more with regards the museum stuff. Such classic types brought back some great memories.

Thank you and I see what you mean with regards to the gloves. They are certainly not what he flew in?

You are in for a treat, maybe going myself to the Nato Day.

It certainly was and how well organised it was with shuttle buses literally departing every 3 minutes. Great stands and very friendly aircrew, great to see 100, 45 and 4 squadron at the show as well.

Thank you to you all for all the comments, glad you liked the shots.
All the best

Hi Andy,
These are great images from what looks like a really good event.
It has been a long time since I have seen a Vought F-8P Crusader and from your shot she looks in excellent condition.
Thank you for posting and see you soon.
C.
