This may have well changed I went to Travis around this time last year and was able to gain access. There may have been an upgrade in security.

Posted on their website :
Visitors: Please note that base escorts are temporarily unavailable for the general public and Non-military ID card holders.
Please be patient, while we work to reestablish availability. Thank you.

its been a on/off problem here for 10 years +
they were talking about relocating the museum to enable access for
the non mil ID public without going through the main gate

They have a model of the new museum complex in the museum........................ not a lot of use if you cant get in.

They had already moved the F4 over to the new site when I visited last year. It is going to be off to the right before the main gate.

I have tried to arrange a visit twice in recent years via email, never even got a reply, even when using my work email which being from a long established museum on an active military base I thought might have worked.
