Log Poznan Friday 18-may-2018

Post by pg1610 » Fri May 25, 2018 8:53 am

Today was the Spotters day for the 2018 Nato Tiger Meet, lots of issues on line before hand over Tickets, access and position of spotters area

We must have been lucky as tickets arrived more or less when expected with about 10 days to go

access was as expected a long wait in line on a car park for bus transportation(in fact when they started loading buses at 08.15 it only took an hour for us to get onto base) and we were a fair way back in the line

on base position was as expected on the North side but for Us anyway this did not detract from the day

only gripe if any was there was not really enough time to see both morning and afternoon missions as second missions were late in the afternoon and everyone had to be off base for 16.30

Although for us we had already decided to leave after morning recoveries to make the Airshow spotters access over at Lawica,

so in the end everything worked out fine for us
Poznan-Krzesiny, Poland (EPKS) 09.20-15.00 only aircraft photgrahed or read off

Excellent log. Just a few items to add...

A number of based F-16s plus visiting Lask F-16s were operating from the "newer" HAS complex at NW corner of base (compared to older Warsaw Pact pedigree shelters near spotters enclosure).
Additional aircraft read off were 4053 (which was also southside earlier), 4064, 4080 & 4087. Also noted over this side pm were 4044, 4045, 4058, 4083 & 4086. Apart from 4058 the other 4 had all flown earlier. There were 2 others that defied id as too nose on and parked at far end of this complex plus too much heat haze;
In terms of NTM participants 4047 was also noted flying am (up with 4045, 4055 & 4060);
Another C295M seen departing pm was 012; there may have been another one in apart from this one & 025 which arr am;
MiG-21UM 9351 spcl tiger mks was parked on apron near flags of NTM participants (as was 4051); it was towed into hangar later to join the other on base museum collection which was inaccessible from the spotters enclosure;
MiG21MF 9112 was parked in NE shelter area close to spotters enclosure and was the only aircraft on the "right side" lighting-wise;
W-3WA 1018 was in VIP(?) white/red c/sch;
Another belgian F-16 was FB-20;
Czech gripen 9239 & German tonka 46+50 both arrived am;
FN Rafales were 7, 19 (not 9), 39 & 42;
Additional Swiss Hornet present was J-5002;
Additional Dutch F-16s noted on fltline were J-003 & J-514;
Easily overlooked was the UK contribution with Puma XW224 & Merlin ZH847 (both on airshow static later).
Plus at least 2 Austrian Saab 105's RI-29 + RE-25 spcl tiger (latter on static at airshow).

Martin thanks for the additions and updates, Yes I forgot the UK bits, mainly due to them not arriving anywhere near the camera , we departed by 3pm so missed the other F-16s and only saw 1 Austrian which departed/arrived whilst in line for the bus out

It is now more or less certain that the two green W3s were 0609/0820 both of which have been reported via other lists as seen Wednesday and Thursday and of course by a lot of people on saturday at Inorowclaw

I was thinking the very same regarding the 2 u/d Sokols. I saw them at the small grass airfield at Inowroclaw-Kujawski sat am.
