25/7/17: Baltic Air Policing jets were scrambled to intercept 1x RuAF An-26 routing from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad in international airspace over the Baltic Sea. Crew of the aircraft had the transponder on and kept radio contact with the air traffic control centre but had no flight plan.

1/8/17: Baltic Air Policing jets scrambled four times to identify and escort RuAF in international airspace over the Baltic Sea. First one an An-26 flying from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad (with a flight plan, kept radio contact, transponder on) and 2x MiG-31s flying from mainland Russia (no flight plans, no radio contact, transponders off). Second, 2x Su-27s where intercepted flying from mainland Russia (no flight plans, no radio contact, transponders off). Third, 2x Su-33s flying from mainland Russia (no flight plans, no radio contact, transponders off) were identified and escorted. Fourth, 4x Su-27s were intercepted flying from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad (no flight plans, no radio contact, transponders off).

2/8/17: Baltic Air Policing jets were scrambled twice to intercept 2x Ru Navy Tu-142 (RF-34059 51 & 95(no RF- serial)) and 2x IL-38 in international airspace over the Baltic Sea, the aircraft flew in pairs from mainland Russia without flight plans, without keeping radio contact and with their transponders off.

3/8/17: Baltic Air Policing jets were scrambled to intercept 2x IL-38 flying from mainland Russian in international airspace over the Baltic Sea. The aircraft did not have flight plans, neither transponders were used and no radio contact kept.

5/8/17: Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 1x An-26 flying from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad in international airspace over the Baltic Sea. Its transponder was off, it had a flight plan and kept radio contact with the air traffic control.

17/8/17: Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 2x IL-20. One of which was flying from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad in international airspace over the Baltic Sea. The other had departed Kaliningrad heading towards mainland Russia. Their transponders were off, it had a flight plan and kept radio contact with air traffic control.

18/8/17: Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 1x IL-20 flying from Kaliningrad to mainland Russia in international airspace over the Baltic Sea. Its transponder was off, it had a flight plan and kept radio contact with air traffic control.

22/8/17: Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 2x Su-27 flying from mainland Russia to over the Baltic Sea and back towards the mainland. Their transponders were off, no flight plans and didn't keep radio contact with air traffic control.

24/8/17: Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 1x IL-22 & 2x Su-27. The Il-22 flew from the Kaliningrad Region to the Russian mainland with a flight plan, kept radio contact with air traffic control, without its transponder on. The Su-27s were flying from mainland Russia to over the Baltic Sea and back towards the mainland. Their transponders were off, no flight plans and didn't keep radio contact with air traffic control.

26/8/17: Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 1x An-72, 3x An-12 and 3x Su-27 flying from Russian mainland to the Kaliningrad region in international airspace over the Baltic Sea. The An-72 aircraft flew with its transponder on, it had a flight plan and kept radio contact with air traffic control. The An-12s flew with their transponders off, had a flight plans and kept radio contact with air traffic control. The Su-27s flew with their transponders off, without flight plans and didn't keep radio contact with air traffic control. Later the three An-12 returned to mainland Russia with their transponders off,all with flight plans and all kept radio contact with air traffic control.

28/8/17 USAF F-15 Baltic Air Policing jets (MA01 & MA02) intercepted an IL-20 (RF-95979) flying from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad according to a pre-filed flight plan, maintaining radio contact with the air traffic control but without using its transponder. This was the first A-scramble for the USAF F-15s in their BAP deployment.

29/8/17 Baltic Air Policing jets identified and escorted an RUAF Tu-134 flying from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad with a flight plan, maintaining radio contact with air traffic control and with its transponder switched on. Also, 2x Su-24s that took off from Kaliningrad flew over the Baltic Sea and then returned. Their transponders were off, there was no flight plans and had no radio contact with air traffic control.

30/8/17 Belgian F-16s EI01 & EI02 scrambled from Amari intercepted an RUAF A-50 (RF-92957) flying from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad according to a flight plan, keeping radio contact with air traffic control but with its transponder switched-off.

31/8/17 Baltic Air Policing jets were scrambled twice. The first scramble 3x RUAF An-26s were intercepted: two of them on their way from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad with flight plans, maintaining radio contact, but their transponders were off. The third An-26 flew from Kaliningrad to mainland Russia according to a flight plan, maintaining radio contact and with its transponder on.

1/9/17 Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted an RUAF An-26 flying from Kaliningrad to mainland Russian according to a pre-filed flight plan and maintaining radio contact with air traffic control but its transponder was off.

5/9/17 Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 2x RUAF Su-27s over the Baltic Sea flying from and back to Chernyakhovsk. The aircraft did not have flight plans, their transponders were switched off and no radio contact with air traffic control was kept.

8/9/17 Baltic Air Policing jets scrambled twice to intercept Russian military aircraft. An An-12 was intercepted in both cases, the first flying from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad, then – vice versa. The aircraft was flying back and forth according to a flight plan, kept radio contact with air traffic control but its transponder was switched off.

11/9/17 Baltic Air Policing jets identified and escorted 2x IL-20 aircraft flying from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad and 2x Su-27s which took off from Kaliningrad to meet the IL-20s. None of the aircraft had flight plans or used onboard transponders, only one IL-20 kept radio contact with air traffic control.

12/9/17 Baltic Air Policing jets carried out two alert scrambles. First, an An-26 was intercepted, then an An-12 flying from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad according to a flight plan, maintaining radio contact, but with its transponder off. Also, one Su-24MR and one Su-35 were intercepted as they flew from mainland Russia and back over the Baltic Sea, and a Mi-26 flying from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad. None of the aircraft had flight plans, maintained radio contact, or used transponders.

13/9/17 Baltic Air Policing jets were scrambled twice. First, an IL-22 Airborne Command Post aircraft was intercept on its way from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad. Its onboard transponder was off, the crew did not keep radio contact with air traffic control, although a plan for the flight had been pre-filed. Second, an IL-18 was intercepted flying from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad according to a flight plan but its transponder was off and radio contact was not kept.

14/9/17 Baltic Air Policing jets scrambled twice: first 2x Su-35s, 6x Tu-22s and 1x Su-30 were intercepted. All aircraft flew from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad and then back, without flight plans, without maintaining radio contact and without using transponders. The second scramble intercepted 4x Su-34s and 1x Su-27 flying from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad, none of the aircraft had flight plans, used onboard transponders or kept radio contact with air traffic control.

15/9/17 Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 1x IL-20 flying from Kaliningrad to mainland Russia. The aircraft had a flight plan and maintained radio contact with air traffic control, its transponder was off.

19/9/17: Baltic Air Policing jets scrambled twice. At first 1x IL-20 was intercepted on its way from Kaliningrad to mainland Russia. 20/9/17: Baltic Air Policing jets scrambled four times. The first scramble addressed 2x Tu-22s flying from mainland Russia towards Denmark, and 2x Su-27s that flew from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad escorting them. Then NATO fighters scrambled to intercept the same group of 2x Tu-22s and 2x Su-27s along with two more Su-27s that flew from Kaliningrad to meet the Tu-22s. The third scramble was triggered by 2x Tu-22s flying from Denmark to mainland Russia and 2x Su-27s that flew to meet them from mainland Russia. The last scramble on that day was conducted to intercept 2x Su-27s flying from Kaliningrad to mainland Russia. None of the aircraft had flight plans, kept radio contact or used transponders.

21/9/17: Baltic Air Policing jets scrambled were scrambled twice. First an IL-22 Airborne Command Post aircraft was intercepted flying from Kaliningrad to mainland Russia according to a flight plan, maintaining radio contact, but without its transponder on; also, 2x Su-27s flying over the Baltic Sea from Kaliningrad and back without flight plans, transponders or maintaining radio contact. 25/9/17: Baltic Air Policing jets scrambled to intercept 1x Tu-134 flying from Kaliningrad to mainland Russia according to a flight plan, with its transponder switched on and it was maintaining radio contact with the air traffic control.

26/9/17: Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 1x IL-76 on its way from Kaliningrad to mainland Russia. The aircraft had flight plan and kept radio contact but its transponder was off.

27/10/17: Baltic Air Policing jets identified and escorted 1x An-26 (47) flying from Kaliningrad to mainland Russia. The An-26 had a flight plan, the transponder was off, the crew kept radio contact with the regional air traffic control.
During the same scramble on October 27 the NATO fighters intercepted 1x An-72 RF-72949 flying from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad according to a pre-filed flight plan, with its transponder on, and keeping radio contact with air traffic control.

9/11/17: Baltic Air Policing jets identified and escorted 1x IL-22 flying from Kaliningrad to mainland Russia and 2x Su-27s escorting it half the distance; two SU-27s flew to meet it at that point from the mainland of the Russian Federation. None of the aircraft had flight plans, none used transponders, and the only crew to keep radio contact was of the IL-22.

11/11/17: Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 2x SU-27s escorting 1x IL-76 from the mainland to Kaliningrad. The Il-76 had a flight plan, the crew kept radio contact and used its transponder. Neither of the SU-27s had flight plans, used onboard transponders nor kept radio contact.

11/11/17: Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 1x AN-26 flying from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad according to a flight plan, maintaining radio contact with regional air traffic control but its transponder was switched off.

12/11/17: Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 2x Su-27s escorting 1x IL-76 (RF-78790) from Kaliningrad to mainland Russia. The IL-76 had a flight plan, its transponder was on and the crew kept radio contact with regional air traffic control. The Su-27s complied with none of these requirements.

Danish F-16s should leaving tomorrow (5/1) to taken over from the 493rd
VILNIUS - Danish fighter jets are to arrive in Lithuania this week to replace US aircraft serving in the NATO air policing mission here.

Four F-16 fighter jets of the Danish Royal Air Force are to land at the Zokniai airport in northern Lithuania on Friday, the Defense Ministry told BNS. The Danish aviators will commence a four-month shift to replace their US colleagues who patrolled the Baltic skies with four F-15 fighter-jets.
The official contingent changeover ceremony is scheduled for next Monday.

The NATO Baltic air policing mission is conducted from Lithuania and Estonia. This will be the sixth time for the Danish Air Force in the mission since Lithuania joined NATO in 2004.

29/11/17: Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 1x IL-76 flying according to a flight plan, maintaining radio contact and with its transponder on, and 2x Su-27s in its escort, without flight plans, without keeping radio contact, and with their transponders off. The aircraft were flying from the mainland Russia to Kaliningrad.

4/12/17: Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 1x Il-20 flying from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad according to a flight plan while maintaining radio contact but without using its transponder.

5/12/17: Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 1x Il-20 flying without a flight plan, without keeping radio contact and with its transponder off. They also shadowed 1x Il-76 with its transponder on but it did not have a pre-filed flight plan and did not maintain radio contact. The aircraft were flying from Kaliningrad to mainland Russia.

5/12/17: Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 1x Tu-134 and 2x Su-27 escorting it. The Tu-134 was flying according to a flight plan, maintained radio communication and its transponder was on. The Su-27s did not have flight plans, were not keeping radio contact, and their transponders were switched off. The aircraft were flying from mainland Russia Federation to Kaliningrad.

7/12/17: Baltic Air Policing jets 1x Il-20 flying from Kaliningrad to mainland Russia according to a flight plan, maintaining radio contact, with its transponder off.

8/12/17: Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 1x Tu-134 and 2x Su-27s. The Tu-134 was flying according to a flight plan, maintained radio communication and its transponder was on, the Su-27s did not have flight plans, were not keeping radio contact, and their transponders were switched off. 19/12/17: Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 1x IL-20 on its way from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad. The transponder of the aircraft was off, the crew did not maintain radio communication with air traffic control but had a flight plan.

25/12/17: Baltic Air Policing jets identified and escorted 1x AN-26 flying from mainland Russia to Kaliningrad. The aircraft had no flight plan and its transponder was switched off but the crew maintained radio communication with air traffic control.

27/12/17: Baltic Air Policing jets intercepted 1x AN-26 flying from Kaliningrad to mainland Russia. It had a flight plan and radio contact was kept but its transponder was switched off.
