Wow!! What a fantastic collection of photos, all six posts need making into a collection of their own in my opinion.

I've really enjoyed viewing your collection.
They are great images, but mean much more to me personally as I was serving on 20 Sqn at Laarbruch 86-89 !!!
Viewing the jets from the wing has been nostalgic.
Brilliant times with 2, 15, 16 & 20.

Lovely stuff, great to see the old colour schemes
Re: RAF Laarbruch 1988-90 Part 6 - Finale
Some lovely pictures you have there - reminds me of my time at Laarbruch from 96-99 although sadly we didn't have the variety of visitors you enjoyed!
Picture number 4 - was that taken from the ATC tower or the Met. viewing platform outside of Ops Wing HQ?
I really must scan my pictures in from ETUL and post here.

NickB - yes, they were taken from atop the ATC tower, one of the onerous tasks was Duty Pilot! I took my camera on some occasions & would sometimes pop down to the Runway Caravan. I wish in someways that I'd taken more shots as most of my slide film came from out of date stuff from the Photographic Section! Otherwise they would have thrown it away! I joined the RAF as an AATC & was fortunate to be accepted for Pilot training after 4 years. Hence the 'inside' shots whilst serving with 16, II(AC) and XV(R)Sqns.

Thanks for the prompt response TAFFEVANS.
The Tornado force had long since departed ETUL (probably EDUL when you were there) by the time I had arrived - Laarbruch must have been a much busier place when you were there with I believe 4 squadrons of Tornados making lots of noise! We just had two Harrier squadrons and for a short time 18Sqn with Wokkas & Pumas.
Ahhh... the good old days of RAFG... Tax free cars, petrol, alcohol & a great way of life... happy days! :-)
Do you have any other pics you could share please?

Some great photos in these threads. Turning the corner in the Ogwen is my favorite.
What's with the double code on the 16Sqn GR1 'FF' , a bit of photoshopery gone awry?

TS010 - just corrected the one of 'FF. Thanks for that, I've just been using Windows Photo Gallery mainly to get rid of the dust particles and some chemical blemishes, must have been over exuberant! Standby for some more downloads - you have been warned!
