Alconbury USAF Air Tattoo 1987
Alconbury USAF Air Tattoo 1987
Continuing my stroll through the Alconbury shows... The '87 show was held on a scorching August day and featured a big RAF (including the Lightning in it's last season and the only display season by the F-4J(UK) variant) and USAF presence (even though the RF-4s had gone, the home team Aggressors and TR-1 flew, along with A-10, F-4G, F-15, F-16 and F-111E) A good NATO turn out featured Belgian Alpha Jet, Danish F-16, French Mirage 2000 (both a B & C ), German Bo105 and rare pair of Norwegian F-5A and F-16 in the flying as well as a smattering of statics. There were also 8 static US Army machines and a good warbird selection, as usual.

Couldn't drive it then, too young
Made it to the 88 one though
Must post some photos of how the place looks now, not long until its all change at Alconbury.

Fantastic memories, thanks for sharing.
Don't suppose anyone has a log?
Have looked on Scramble but that year is missing!
I was a newbie and only took a few pictures good enough to get numbers off!!
Cheers
