Rechlin-Larz airfield

Post by urkles » Tue Mar 01, 2011 3:34 pm

Had a fantastic visit to Laage airfield yesterday, seeing all the based EF2000s and was well pleased with the day when on the way back to Berlin for our flight we popped into this old russian air base at Larz, where the following good stuff was seen. Hope you like them, it was a bit dark!

An interesting selection Mark wish i could have got out there after the wall fell i know a few and some Dutch did ... but i heard the Russian guards were shooting over their heads when spotted. An intersting read about "official" spotting is Brixmis by Tony Geraghty a fascinating insight to the Cold War.

I ask to excuse - the text of these films in Russian.

Here the aviation holiday on air base Larz is shown.
August 1992. There is one year up to a conclusion of military garrison to Russia.
