Great memories of one of the best Photocalls I ever attended for free as was invited down for the w/end by a relative who was stationed at Wattisham. As a bonus he took me to the dump where I literally picked up some F-4 souvenirs.
Re: Wattisham July 1992 Phantom finale.
Whilst I think that you have some great pictures there, I think that I must just query your heading because this was not the actual end
01.07.1992 - saw 56 Squadron stand down
03.07.1992 - saw the arrivals for your said photo call
14.09.1992 - was the date that participating A/c arrived for a mini Tiger Meet
01.10.1992 - saw 74 Squadron stand down, which for me was the actual phinale
I would just like to say that I am not being offencive with your heading, but this is the way I see it

Re: Wattisham July 1992 Phantom finale.
The tickets sold by the R.A.F for the day were given that heading I am sure your dates are accurate and no offence taken its great that folks have detailed knowledge of our aviation heritage.
Re: Wattisham July 1992 Phantom finale.
Brilliant Post, but either I'm 'Haluskinating' or I've got major De-ja-vu? Isn't the last shot a copy of #5?...& Shot9 a copy of #4? Not that it much matters coz you can't have too much of a good thing
Re: Wattisham July 1992 Phantom finale.
ok well if the tickets were headed that then I accept that just
it's just the way I read it to be, did not go down in my head as correct
if it's Phantoms then I am interested as like many many others, I first saw the UK versions at Farnborough.68 went to Coningsby as they were just coming into service and then the phinal days at Wattisham
also managed to do 3 Phancon's
as I said before great pix.cheers James

sorry for any duplications I have spent 30 years photographing military aircraft and 1 week posting on fighter control I will get the hang of copy and paste.
Re: Wattisham July 1992 Phantom finale.

All my photos are taken on 35 mm film I never used slides but wish that I had .
Re: Wattisham July 1992 Phantom finale.
Great shots and thanks for posting, although as Weazel69 states, this was mainly for 56`s stand down Phantom Phinale event, hence the 56 Lightning, 56 F.3. and lack of 74 participants.
74 were still operational with the Phantom for another 3 months after this and had their own Phinale.

Re: Wattisham July 1992 Phantom finale.
Just for the record James, whilst we are on the subject of Wattisham. on the 07.09.1991 the 2 Squadrons held an F4 Photo Call which was as the name say's on the tin
it was interloped by 2 41 Squadron Jaguars and a 13 Squadron Tornado, but nevertheless a good shoot of the good ol' F4
And from the back of the airfield where the dump was you could get some pictures from the outside of its residents which was mainly ex 111 Squadron F4K FG.1's
if ever I get round to it, I will post some of said pix. but I am currently on another project
