Real Aeroplane Company - Warbirds & Choppers

Post by F3 » Fri Sep 07, 2018 3:14 pm

A photo feature on the above Flying club in the latest FlyPast reminded me of the great flying I'd seen there when it used to operate such as Spitfire, Hurricane, Buchon and Mustang around 15 yrs. ago and got me delving into the photo collection
in an effort to show just how good it actually was back then as it did nt appear to attract much interest apart from the warbird fraternity and locally so here's a flavour of what those in the know came to regard as 'the Duxford of the north'. Most of these were taken at the annual summer bash in 03 or 04 when Peter Teichmann and a couple of campadres brought a trio of Mustangs from down sarth. The Delfin graced a similar event back in the late 90s and was the last jet seen there after 'Taff' traded in his L-59.

Another good thread Mick.I caught Mr Smith with some of his planes at Elvington. He is one of the good guys' in the murky world of classic planes, and as you can see he has time
to stop and check this photographers prized collection of some of his planes. Always some rare and interesting types got there (except me)  ..cheers mate

Yes John. He's a genuine enthusiast as well as a collector. Seem to recognise the guy in the green polo shirt.
Watch out for some pics of Leeming F3s on a Station exercise circa 2000 that i'll be posting shortly.
